The SISOnline® is a web-based platform for the Supports Intensity Scale-Adult Version® (SIS-A®) and the Supports Intensity Scale-Children's Version® (SIS-C®).

The SISOnline is used to score individual SIS-A and SIS-C assessments and generate reports and to support enterprise users to to store, manage, and analyze their large datasets on the support needs of people their serve with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Diagnostic Adaptive Behavior Scale ® (DABS®) is an instrument for assessing the adaptive behavior of people between the ages of 4 and 21 for the purpose of determining whether the person meets the second criterion for a diagnosis of intellectual disability (ID). The second criterion is a significant limitation in adaptive behavior as expressed in conceptual, social, and practical adaptive skills. Person-Centered Planning with the SIS-A: A Guide for Planning Teams is designed for use following the administration of the Support Intensity Scale-Adult Version® (SIS-A®) to assist planning team members in using the results to develop person-centered  support plans.

The guide does not require the participation of those involved in administering the SIS-A. The intent is to assist teams in pursuing the type of personalized supports planning that meaningfully enhances a person’s quality of life.

A structured 18-step process that results in a “24-7” support plan for a typical week is outlined. Four of the 18 steps require information from each individual planning team member, and multiple copies of forms for each of those steps are included with the guide. 

The Positive Behavior Support Training Curriculum (PBSTC) teaches direct support staff and supervisors the principles of positive behavior support to address challenging behavior and enhance quality of life. This curriculum, now in its 3rd edition, has been successfully implemented across the country and abroad.  

The PBSTC contains strategies that create a respectful client-staff environment. The curriculum consists of 25 training modules, 9 of which are designed for supervisors only. Each module addresses a key set of skills in positive behavior support, and includes a  Summary Sheet, Presentation Outline, Activity Sheets, and Skill Checks. The curriculum is competency-based:

• trainees will demonstrate their mastery of positive behavioral support skills at the completion of each module through quizzes, role plays, and other activities
• trainees will be observed to demonstrate their mastery of applying new skills in their routine work setting
• the supervisors' modules train supervisors to be more effective managers.

The SIS-A^® Annual Review Protocol is a questionnaire created to help planning teams identify people whose intensity of support needs might have changed in important ways since their last SIS-A assessment.

The protocol focuses on possible significant changes due to important life events and/or health or behavioral concerns, captured in 21 SIS-A items particularly critical to understanding the support need domains  of the SIS-A.

At the conclusion of the protocol, a determination is made as to whether the person’s support needs have or have not changed in important ways, and, if so, the planning team includes a description of the next steps required.

The Supports Intensity Scale-Children’s Version® (SIS-C®) is a standardized, norm-referenced measure of the intensity of support needs for children between the ages of 5 and 16.

The Death Penalty and Intellectual Disability is the authoritative resource on the application of diagnostic information concerning intellectual disability (ID) in death penalty cases, and will be useful to all professionals involved in ID determination processes within the criminal justice system.

In a landmark Atkins v. Virginia decision in 2002, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that executing someone with ID is a violation of the Eighth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which prohibits cruel and unusual punishment. In its 2014 Hall v. Florida decision, the Court ruled that, while states have the right to establish their own rules for handling Atkins cases, they cannot ignore scientific and medical consensus on the diagnosis of ID, which considers both IQ test scores and measures of adaptive behavior.

The Supervisor Training Curriculum teaches supervisors how to direct and motivate staff working with people with IDD. Based on three decades of applied research, each management strategy presented has been tested and proven to work in human services. This Curriculum organizes the role of supervision in human service settings into clear and convenient objectives and responsibilities for new managers.

The curriculum is designed for trainers and upper-level managers in agencies that provide supports to people with IDD.
