146th Annual Meeting

We are excited to be able to meet in-person again in Jacksonville, FL!

AAIDD is taken an innovative approach for this year's conference and we will be holding one conference in two venues (In-person & Virtual). This will give you an opportunity to attend in-person (June 13-16), Virtually (June 27-29) or both.

Conference Theme - Dismantling Systemic Barriers: Reenvisioning Equity and Inclusion

The 146th AAIDD Annual Meeting will provide a forum for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, students and early career professionals, and advocates to come together to reenvision our efforts to advance equity and inclusion in the intellectual and developmental disabilities field.   Recent events are painful, yet clear reminders of our responsibility to continuously challenge the deeply rooted systemic barriers that perpetuate inequities throughout society.  Recognition, acknowledgment, and interrogation of the ways current systems and structures overtly and covertly promote inequity and segregation are vital as we move forward to dismantle barriers and reenvision change that leads to equity and inclusion.

The conference will:

  • Include plenary sessions focused on identifying the impact of systemic barriers in our research, policy, and practice, in order to identify new and innovative pathways to equity and inclusion.
  • Feature panel presentations, poster presentations, poster symposia, and networking opportunities for conference participants to learn from one another with a focus on reenvisioning equity and inclusion.
  • Showcase research, policy, and practice briefs – and opportunity for short and informative updates on the latest from our field advancing equity and inclusion.
  • Include pre- and post-conference workshops addressing topics in greater depth and across the life course.
