Frequently Asked Questions about the Conference

Is the educational content going to be the same for in-person and virtual?
No, each venue will provide a unique set of education sessions.  Only the plenary sessions will be recorded and available on-demand for the virtual portion of the conference.

Are exhibits going to be in-person or virtual or both?
Exhibits will be in-person only.   However, for the virtual portion of the conference, we have an exhibitor listing page with each exhibitor's information.  

Do I receive continuing education credits for attending the conference?
No, unfortunately, we are not able to offer continuing education credits this year.

Can I receive a certificate of attendance?
Yes, we will be happy to provide certificates of attendance upon request. 

I just want to attend or present at one session; do I still have to register?
Yes, even if you are only coming to attend or present at just one session (in-person or virtually), you still need to pay the registration fee.

Does AAIDD have a code of conduct for its conferences?
yes, please read the AAIDD Code of Conduct Statement.

What is the official conference hotel?
The Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront. 

Why should I stay at the conference hotel?
Staying at our official conference hotel helps AAIDD keeps registration fees low. Please only make your reservation using our customized link or by calling the hotel directly. 

What are your COVID-19 Health & Safety Measures?
The AAIDD Annual Meeting Conference will follow CDC guidelines at the time of the event.  At present, the guidelines for large gatherings include:

  • wearing masks
  • staying 6 feet away from others, and
  • not attending gatherings if you are sick or have recently tested positive for COVID (even if you are asymptomatic).

This information will be updated as the guidelines change.

What is the attire for the in-person conference?
Business casual for educational sessions. Wear comfortable shoes and dress in layers.

Will the in-person sessions be recorded?
Only Plenary Sessions will be recorded.

Is the Awards Ceremony going to be recorded or live streamed?
Yes, the Awards Ceremony is the only event that will be transmitted live via YouTube.

Do I have to register to watch the Awards Ceremony?
No, we will be making the Awards Ceremony available to everyone so that awardees can share the link with family members and friends, The link will be posted on our website.

Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Registration

Can I get a discount if I am only attending virtually?
No, there is only one fee whether you attend in-person or virtually.

Do you have a one-day registration?
No, we do not have a one-day registration option this year.

I am a speaker, Do you have a discount for speakers?
No, we only have a discount for AAIDD members, students, self-advocates/family members, and retirees. If you are not a member and would like to become one, you may receive the discounted rate.

Do you have any registration discounts for large groups?
Yes, we have a 10% discount for groups of 10 or more. To obtain this discount, please contact us.

We are a corporate member, do we get a discount?
Yes, if your organization is a Corporate member, you’ll get a 20% discount for your employees. To obtain this discount, please contact us.

Are meals included with my registration?
AAIDD will provide daily continental breakfast and several coffee breaks throughout the meeting.  Lunch will be available for an additional fee on Monday and Tuesday.  On Wednesday, the Awards Luncheon will be complimentary for paid registrants and tickets are required.

Can I purchase the lunch tickets when I get to the meeting?
Since we must guarantee the number of meals for each day, only a very limited number of tickets may be available at the registration desk.  Therefore, we ask everyone to pre-purchase their tickets now.  If you have already registered and need to add a lunch ticket, please contact us.

I need an invoice for my registration or work for a government or higher education institution and need to pay with a PO.  What do I do?
We are happy to create invoices and make arrangements for payment with POs. Please contact us.

Can I pay by check?
Payment via check and accompanying hard copy registration form can be mailed to our office. Please note, due to delayed USPS delivery times nationwide, we encourage you to mail your check as early as possible. We will, unfortunately, be unable to credit registrations for checks received after Friday, June 2, 2022.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Virtual Conference

When will I receive login instructions to access the virtual conference content?
The access link and instructions will be shared with paid registrants a couple of days before the virtual conference dates.

What platform will I use to login into the Virtual Conference?
We will be using ZOOM for the virtual portion of the conference. 

What does "semi-live" mean?
Semi-live means all presentations have been pre-recorded and will be broadcast on the date and time indicated on the agenda, and speakers will be live and present in the chat to respond to questions or comments for the entirety of the session

What time zone will be used for this conference?
All times are in Eastern Daylight Time. Use this tool, to see the time in your time zone.

Can I share my virtual conference login information with other members of my team?
No. For every paid registration, only one device (computer, laptop, tablet, phone) will be allowed to enter the virtual conference

Will I be able to ask the speakers questions?
Yes, during the semi-live sessions presenting authors will be available to answer questions or address comments
