The 1.0 FTE position is funded through a combination of grant funding through the Marriott Endowed Professorship in Child and Family Development (45%), University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) (30%), and 25% from incoming research funding from the candidate.
The candidate will assume a leadership role and support the UCEDD mission: To advance self-determination among the diversity of people with developmental and other disabilities and their families, throughout the life course, and advocate for their full participation in all aspects of community life. The candidate will contribute to the four core functions of this legislatively authorized program including but not limited to: 1) interdisciplinary pre-service training and continuing education, 2) community services, 3) research and evaluation, and 4) information dissemination.
The Associate Professor will focus on advancing a research program focused on community-engaged research in the areas of intellectual and developmental disabilities, human development, and mental health. The Associate Professor will also engage in teaching (4-6 lectures per year) as well as mentor graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, and will contribute to other educational activities at the University. The Associate Professor will be responsible for pursuing research opportunities and collaborations to enhance the research portfolio at the Thrive Center.
Qualifications: PhD within the Human Services, Public Policy, Social Sciences, Education, or related discipline or field. Extensive research and evaluation experience and knowledge of the fields of disability, human development, mental health, and community-engaged research.
The projected salary pay range for this position is $150,000-$180,000 which represents the full range of anticipated compensation for this position. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
