Melissa A. DiSipio, MSA, FAAIDD

STATEMENT OF GOALS

My previous term as a member-at-large and as AAIDD’s Secretary/Treasurer has prepared me to fulfill the duties and responsibilities as Vice-President. My goal will be to work collaboratively with the other Board Members to ensure that the main themes of policy, practice and research are promoted throughout the daily maintenance of the organization. I will strive to increase diversity in all aspects of our membership and leadership levels, and continue the focus on issues facing many in our service industry including direct work force, health care, families and employment. As Vice President, supporting Maggie and the AAIDD staff to continue to think creatively in order to maintain hybrid resources to our clients and membership during this unique time is of the utmost importance. Finally, continuing to promote AAIDD’s national and international presence as a premier advocate for intellectual and developmental disabilities to stakeholders and relevant parties will be an ongoing task during my tenure.
