STATEMENT OF GOALS
It would be an honor to continue serving as a Member at Large for AAIDD’s National Board of Directors. As a long-standing member of the Association, I have always been impressed by the diversity of the membership. The organization attracts and retains an amazing blend of individuals interested in academia, policy, practice, and advocacy. If reelected to this position, my primary goal would be to continue bridging these interests around our common mission of supporting people with IDD. As a second goal, I would draw upon my clinical expertise regarding crisis intervention services and the co-occurrence of mental illness among individuals with IDD. These are topics in the field that require ongoing attention, which I would promote through my involvement with the Board. As a third goal, I would maintain strong support for the Student and Early Career Professionals Interest Network. Through my continuing experience as a clinical training supervisor, I strongly believe in fostering the growth and development of other professionals in the field.
