Recent awards, accolades, appointments, and other honors

Laura Lee McIntyre Named New Dean of the College of Education at the University of Oregon

McIntyre joined the UO in 2009. Prior to being named interim dean, she served as head of the Department of Special Education and Clinical Sciences, director of the school psychology program and director of the Prevention Science Institute.

Her research focuses on prevention and early intervention to improve child developmental and behavioral health outcomes among underserved children and families, including fostering family-school partnerships.

William Gaventa Awarded the 2023 Oskar Pfister Award.

The Oskar Pfister Award was established in 1983 in memory of Oskar Pfister, an ordained minister who studied and used psychoanalytic principles in his work. Co-sponsored by Association of Professional Chaplains and the Harding Foundation, the Pfister Award honors outstanding contributions in the field of psychiatry and religion.

Tim Barksdale Awarded the Wolf Wolfensberger Valor Award

The Wolf Wolfensberger Valor Award is presented by the Psychology Interest Network of AAIDD. The award recognizes a mental health professional who is committed to empowering clinical practice or research that amplifies the inherent dignity of all people.
