A Better Bottom Line: Employing People with Disabilities

Dr. Joanna Pierson, Past-President of AAIDD and Executive Director of the Arc of Frederick County, interviewed Jack Markell, Delaware Governor and Chair of the National Governors Association (NGA, 2012-2013) about the NGA's A Better Bottom Line: Employing People with Disabilities initiative.
In his role as Chair of the NGA, Governor Markell is spearheading an initiative to increase employment among individuals with intellectual and other significant disabilities. Towards this goal, he is exploring the role that both state govenrment and business can play in facilitating and advancing opportunities for people with intellectual disability to be gainfully employed in the competitive labor market.
