STATEMENT OF GOALS
For more than twenty-five years, AAIDD has been my professional home, and I am inspired by the Association’s long-standing commitment to advancing the rights, opportunities, and quality of life of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the capacity of those who support them. As Vice President, I would build on that legacy by helping ensure that strategy, policy, and resources consistently reflect AAIDD’s mission and values.
If given the honor to serve, I will foster development opportunities that translate research into practice, support members across disciplines and career stages, and encourage the growth of early and mid-career professionals through mentoring relationships that spark shared learning, fresh perspective, and innovation across generations. As a former family caregiver and executive leader, I am passionate about sustaining “Care Champions” whose leadership and compassion make quality supports possible.
Central to my approach is connection and belonging. I will actively seek input from colleagues across chapters, regions, and interest networks, recognizing that collective insight strengthens decision making and keeps AAIDD strong, responsive, and relevant in the years ahead.
