Maria Alfaro joined AAIDD in 1996 and has held a variety of roles. Her current position as Senior Manager, Meetings and Website includes managing
logistics related to all of the Association’s meetings and trainings;
she also manages the website, provides technical support for the AAIDD
online communities, and serves as the staff liaison to the Nominations
and Elections and the Awards and Fellowship Committees of the board.
Maria earned an associate’s degree in Information Systems Technology
at NOVA, has a certification in Technical Meeting & Event
Productions and has completed coursework in Virtual Meetings and
Pandemic Compliance.
In 2016, Maria was recognized for her 20 years of service to the
Association, and in 2017 she was the recipient of the AAIDD President's
Award.
