Autism Center for Diagnosis and Treatment
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide diagnostic and related services for individuals seeking a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder
- Provide education to parents, community, and professionals about autism spectrum disorders
- Collaborate with lead psychologists on diagnostic evaluations
- Order genetics and other labs associated with the broad spectrum of developmental questions associated with autism spectrum disorder
- Provide appropriate referrals for ancillary healthcare services including referrals to speech and OT/PT, psychiatry
Required Qualifications
- Medical doctorate in general medicine, pediatrics, or psychiatry; Pediatric or psychiatry specialty a plus
- Licensed in the state of Missouri to practice or eligible to be licensed; the ability to provide medications management services for individuals with autism and comorbid behavioral health disorders a plus
- 1 year of experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder/developmental disabilities; 5+ years of experience a plus
- Experience providing services to individuals with a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds
- Experience working on a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to establish collaborative partnerships within the University and among regional service providers including Department of Mental Health and targeted case management agencies
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
- Demonstrated commitment to working with multi-cultural populations and awareness of issues affecting women and minorities
