Director of Exceptional Adventures

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY

Responsible to the Chief Operating Officer of Partners For Quality, Inc. for the design, development, implementation and overall management of Exceptional Adventures, Inc., a Partners For Quality, Inc. subsidiary corporation that provides social activities and experience for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Exceptional Adventures will provide a variety of experiences that focus on community inclusion. All responsibilities shall be completed in a manner consistent with the Vision, Mission
and Values of Exceptional Adventures.

DIRECTOR LEVEL RESPONSIBILITES

  • Responsible for the overall operation of the agency
  • Responsible for the overall operation of the agency
  • Responsible for the implementation of the Exceptional Adventures Policies and Procedures
  • Establish the agency short- and long-term goals and objectives, develop metrics that can be used to monitor progress
  • Oversee all personnel management activities, including hiring, supervising, training, evaluating and other related management / personnel-related activities.
  • Develop individual budgets for each activity or experience.
  • Develop yearly agency budget.
  • Promote the organization to agencies, community partners and guests, through in person, social media, and website content.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Flexible schedule to accommodate the planned activities and experiences.
  • Create, develop, implement, and attend guest experiences.
  • Engage with guests to ensure that activities and experiences are developed in the areas of interest.
  • Design social activities and experiences that give guests the opportunity to socialize with peers.
  • Organize all aspects of the activities such as: schedule, supplies, venue, transportation, reservations, tickets, revenue, expenses, attendance, etc.
  • Responsible for assuring each activity or experience is conducted professionally and is a safe environment for everyone in attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field, preferred.
2. Five (5) years experience with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
3. Two (2) years management / supervisory experience
4. Event Management experience preferred.
5. Excellent organizational, administrative, and planning skills
6. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
7. Excellent computer skills
8. Excellent references, both personal and professional
9. Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
10. Act 33, 34 and FBI Clearances

Conventional business attire when in contact with consumers and public
Conservative casual dress appropriate within the internal facility environment
Appropriate dress for activities or experiences.
