WittKieffer is partnering with Hope Network's board as they embark on a national search to identify a proven and passionate leader to serve as their new President and Chief Executive Officer, following the retirement of Phil Weaver, who has served as CEO for the past 16 years. Headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Hope Network is a sophisticated and complex, behavioral health and human services non-profit organization that serves people across the state of Michigan and provides healthcare and life services to over 34,000 people annually, in more than 240 communities. The company's scope of services spans mental health, rehabilitation, transportation, autism care, affordable housing and more. Hope Network's mission is, in Christian Service to empower people to overcome challenges to achieve their highest level of independence. Their vision is to be a nationally recognized provider of solutions for individuals and communities they serve. With revenues of over $135 million and through the efforts of 2,300 staff members, Hope Network goes to incredible lengths to help people overcome the physical, social or mental health barriers standing in their way.

The new CEO will have the opportunity to change the trajectory of thousands of lives and provide the highest level of care and services. This leader will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic vision for the organization that responds to the quality of care, facilities/operations requirements, proximity and accessibility of the workforce, community relations and financial stability that is required to meet its mission. The CEO will embrace servant leadership and will have an authentic passion for the mission of Hope Network. They will serve as the external voice and face of Hope Network, as well as its chief advocate, being fully capable of telling the Hope Network story to raise the visibility and awareness among key influencers, including public and private stakeholders. Hope Network's new leader must identify and retain new sources of funding and develop strategic alliances with peer organizations to provide high quality services to the people they are entrusted to serve.  The new CEO will need to expand fundraising capabilities and build out the resources and capabilities of the Foundation to meet the future needs of the organization, especially in response to tightened funding, changing reimbursements and Covid-19.  Hope Network has an opportunity to become the unquestioned leader in serving people who suffer from physical, mental and social barriers by introducing new and innovative models that address the realities of access, affordability and outcomes.

The successful candidate will be a transformational leader, and someone who can quickly earn the respect of the community, staff and board. Strong financial acumen and business orientation is essential, as is experience successfully managing the entire spectrum of an organization's complete financial performance.  Healthcare experience is strongly preferred, combined with an entrepreneurial mindset. Understanding of behavioral health and/or human services with a thorough understanding of operations, finances, regulatory requirements and reimbursements is valuable. Experience managing a complex, multi-site, multi-program non-profit or human service delivery organization is also of interest.
