Behavior Therapist - $500 Sign on bonus

Sample Supports is seeking therapists and clinicians of diverse backgrounds to join our Behavior Services Team. Our team is looking for entry level as well as LPC, LCSW, or other applicable licensed clinicians with a focus on adaptive and integrated evidence-based approaches. This position is responsible for assessing and creating clinical behavior plans, providing training and consultation to internal and external teams, and providing counseling directly to the person participating in the program. Our Behavior Services philosophy is focused on a social work approach where we address the whole person as they are presenting and integrating trauma-informed care into all of our practices.

Schedule Expectations:

  • Flexible and independent schedule to include primarily daytime hours.
  • Position entails availability for crisis situations, and some evenings and weekends may be required as emergent needs arise.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate understanding of applicable rules and regulations from local, State and Federal governments/programs that influence our agency licensing
  • Provides direct client services to individuals on caseload as needed to ensure their health, safety and overall quality of life is maintained
  • Effectively manage paperwork and files for clients and providers/employees according to high program standards, regulations and auditing requirements as assigned by the manager.
  • Ensure that all client paperwork and tracking meet expectations for successful billing and potential claims testing
  • Assist the program manager with completing billing and an re-bills
  • Audit regional behavior plans, assisting Behavior Specialist Level I with any needed updates and changes
  • Provide supervision to an intern if they meet the licensure requirements with the school
  • Ability to development and facilitate agency behavior assessments and create comprehensive clinical behavior plans
  • Evaluates and provides therapeutic intervention for clients using verbal communication and appropriate curriculum according to client’s level of cognitive functioning
  • Provide consistent and skilled intervention for behaviors and issues related to developmental disabilities, mental health and trauma histories
  • Maintain successful communication with all team members and establishing a comprehensive case management approach, establishing the agency as a primary member
  • Maintaining positive rapport with clients, providers, employees, and team members to ensure clients maintain their services with People Power
  • Advocates for client needs and appropriate services to ensure the client has access to a high quality of life
  • Maintains a positive attitude and calm demeanor during difficult situations, modeling effective crisis management and problem solving for others
  • Attends internal and external meetings as requested
  • Model appropriate skills and communication when working with clients and their teams
  • Any staff member must be willing and able to work with any client in any program in any region
  • Staff is responsible for maintaining identified levels of client supervision as identified in client service plans
  • Job responsibilities include reporting any suspected maltreatment, abuse, neglect, or exploitation of an at-risk individual. (M/A/N/E) Each position is considered a mandatory reporter
  • Staff is responsible for effectively implementing emergency control procedures and safety control procedures as necessary
  • Reliable transportation is required to get to work/drive clients
  • Any other tasks as assigned

The ideal candidate possesses the following characteristics/skills:

  • Ability to effectively work independently with minimal supervision
  • Completion of Positive Behavior Supports Program (provided by Sample Supports)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Bachelor's degree or above in relevant field is required
  • Must have training and/or experience commensurate with the service or support being provided
  • Must be competent and willing to perform Non-Violent Crisis Intervention physical managements as trained
  • Works in full compliance with all of Sample Supports ’s policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Able to perform the physical demands of the position


$49,150 per year for licensed candidates or $22.07 per hour for other candidates. Both positions are eligible for metric based bonus.
