 rsity of Minnesota \nDirect Support Professionals (DSPs) provide long term
  services and supports to people with intellectual disabilities in a wide 
 variety of settings &ndash\; individual/family homes\, community programs\
 , worksites\, group homes\, and larger facilities. These workers have many
  critically important roles.&nbsp\; Throughout the pandemic they have risk
 ed their lives to deliver needed supports to people and often were put in 
 the situation of potentially infecting their own families due to their wor
 k. Despite their importance\, in most states this group of employees is no
 t clearly identified as essential workers. This webinar will share new res
 earch findings from the University of Minnesota&rsquo\;s Research and Trai
 ning Center on Community Living regarding a 6 month follow up study on the
  effects of COVID-19 on this important workforce and strategies that are h
 elpful to best supporting them. Implications of the findings of this longi
 tudinal study will be shared and discussed by participants. \nObjectives:\
 n\n    Identify key challenges experienced by Direct Support Professionals
  as they provided supports to people with intellectual and developmental d
 isabilities during COVID19.\n    Identify at least three strategies that D
 SPs find helpful to them while working during a pandemic.\n    Identify ch
 anges in expectations\, support and exposures to COVID19 at 9 months compa
 red to 2-3 months into the pandemic.\n\n \n\n\n\n\n
